Lavender Obsessed

Posted by Staci Sweeney on

Lavender is one of those herbs that conjures up images of old English Manors, Victorian women, and Springtime, then again maybe thats just me. We use Lavender in aromathepy because of its calming scent and in those little draw liners because it just smells good.

Lavender actually has some amazing uses. Lavender is used for everything from treating acne to insomnia. It's actually a good herb to have on hand for treating minor burns, your basic cuts and wounds, headaches, and makes a great mosquito repellent. With all these great uses for lavender could there possibly be any more uses?? The answer is YES. You can cook with Lavender as well. Later on in this post I'll share some of my all time favorite Lavender recipes.

As I've mentioned above Lavender has many uses, some we may not have even thought of. It helps people who suffer with Fibromyalgia, IBS, and Lupus, and even helps with Hypertension. You'll notice that I tend to use Lavender in a number of my products like my salves and facial cleansers. In fact Lavender is one of the main ingrediants in my Acne Face Wash. Lavender is an analgesic, antidepressant, antifungal, antioxidant, antirheumatic, antiviral, aromatic, diaphoretic, diuretic hypotensisve, insect repellent, mood enhancing, herb.

The main use for Lavender in my products is for its antiviral and antifungal properties and also because of its calming effects and what can I say, I like the way it smells lol.

During the Spring and Summer months I tend to get a little Lavender Obssessed  and make everything from lavender ice cream and lavender lemonade to making lavender meatloaf, which my daughter hates I cant figure out why lol, but she does like my honey lavender chicken.
